Does Audi need to service my Audi?

No, your Audi doesn’t have to be serviced by Audi, but to ensure your warranty remains valid and your Audi maintains its resale value, we’d always recommend getting it serviced by an Audi specialist, such as Quality Car Service.

It wasn’t always like that…

It used to be that Audi main dealers could legally invalidate your warranty if you didn’t get it serviced at a main dealer garage. But, thankfully, in 2003 a new EU regulation changed the law, preventing Audi, and any other car manufacturer from insisting you used their garage.

But, that doesn’t mean there aren’t conditions…

To ensure your Audi warranty remains valid, the mechanic garage you choose to carry out your service must use genuine Audi parts, and adhere to the manufacturers service schedule. Of course, if your Audi is out of warranty this won’t apply, but we’d still suggest you always use an Audi specialist, and parts that provide the same performance as Audi parts.

How often do I need to service my Audi?

Because premium cars like Audis have systems and features that are more sophisticated than cheaper cars, it’s vital you get your Audi serviced once the service becomes due. With most Audis, it’s recommended that they’re serviced every 9,300 miles or every 12 months, whichever comes first, but remember, to keep your Audi running at its optimum performance, you always have the option of an interim service.

What is an interim service?

An interim service is a less involved service between your vehicles periodic full services, usually every 5-6000 miles. This service will generally include a safety check, an oil and filter replacement, a top-up of other fluids, and a check of the overall condition of the engine, battery, lights and tyres.

Why should I use an Audi specialist?

The main reasons for using an Audi specialist car garage for your Audi service, rather than using a main dealer garage or a regular garage, are that it’s a much more reasonable price for a dealer equivalent service, the mechanics will have specialist training in servicing Audis, and it’s more personal, so if you have any special requirements, all you have to do is ask.
