Mercedes A Service
You don’t want to be in a situation where your Mercedes breaks down due to a minor fault, do you?
After all, it could be something so small and could have been avoided with a routine Mercedes service.
Regular servicing helps your Mercedes last longer. Ensuring it is kept in optimal condition, a service reveals small faults before they become expensive repairs and keeps your engine working seamlessly.
Without regular services, your Mercedes will be more likely to break down. If you have ever experienced a breakdown, you know it can be tiresome and stressful.
To avoid expensive repair bills and to ensure your Mercedes runs smoothly, they have come up with two major service types for owners:
- Mercedes A Service
- Mercedes B Service
No matter which service is due on your model, you should always follow the recommended service intervals set out by the manufacturer. Every Mercedes service is intended to keep your vehicle on the road for longer and to ensure your warranty is not affected.
When our client entered our workshop reception, they were unsure about which Mercedes Service they needed – but we knew how to help.
With our team of experts on hand to assist immediately, our client’s Mercedes E-Class would be inspected and maintained to the highest standards thanks to our decades of Mercedes experience. We also have dealership-level access to ensure no stone is left unturned when it comes to our servicing and repairs.
We found out which service interval our client’s car needed right away. Quality Car Service has a team of skilled professionals, manufacturer information and extensive tools and parts network to undertake any Mercedes service – whilst offering better value than the main dealer.
What Is The Main Difference Between Mercedes A and B Service?
At Quality Car Service, we hear this question a lot. If you’re wondering what the difference is between Mercedes A and B service, read on:
These are the main differences between A and B services:
When your car turns one year old, it typically needs the Mercedes A Service. This service is then performed every two years, depending on how much you’ve driven.
The Mercedes A Service involves:
- Changing the oil filter
- Replacing the synthetic engine oil
- Checking brake components
- Inspecting and correcting tyre inflation
- Resetting the maintenance counter
The Mercedes B Service is more thorough and is recommended for older Mercedes vehicles or those with high mileage. You usually need the Mercedes B Service one year after the Mercedes A Service, and the two services alternate each year.
The Mercedes B Service includes:
- Replacing synthetic engine oil
- Changing the cabin dust/combination filter
- Resetting the maintenance counter
- Replacing the oil filter
- Inspecting brake components
Our client was not sure which service they needed on their Mercedes E-Class, so they consulted our expert team for help.
As we have specialist knowledge and access to Mercedes’s information, we knew which service was required and were able to help immediately.
What We Did Next
We tapped into the Mercedes digital service records and discovered from the last service, that the next service that the E-Class required would be a Mercedes A Service.
As we performed the service, we discovered a small issue with our client’s car. There was an issue with the wheel alignment.
Over time, due to wear and tear or due to an impact with a kerb, pothole, stones or road debris, our client’s Mercedes tracking was out, and the wheels needed to be realigned. It is a common issue amongst all cars due to the design of the suspension components.
It’s a good job the issue was detected early, as leaving it any longer would cause uneven tyre wear, and it will affect handling as it will be difficult to drive in a straight line.
After all, you want to be able to drive straight, right?
The issue can also become worse if it is not dealt with quickly. This leads to an increased chance of a crash and compromises your safety.
Our client’s only consequence of their Mercedes E-Class wheel misalignment was a worn front right tyre. The tread was low and close to the legal limit, therefore recommended that we fit a replacement.
How We Solved The Wheel Alignment Issue and Serviced Our Customer’s Mercedes
To maintain vehicle safety and prevent unwanted repair bills, we performed a wheel alignment and replaced our client’s worn out tyre.
To ensure we work closely with our customer, they were contacted and taken through the checks we performed, with the suggested repair. We make sure that our customers are happy for us to continue working on their vehicles and only proceed once we have the go-ahead.
As soon as our client said it was okay to continue, we began work.
The worn tyre was replaced, and the wheel alignment was adjusted to ensure our client’s E-Class would drive straight and true.
We also perform a comprehensive safety inspection on our customers’ Mercedes vehicles, as we wouldn’t want to leave you unsafe and needing another repair. We go above and beyond the recommended service set out by Mercedes to ensure every customer has five-star treatment.
With the safety test complete, our client’s E-Class was fresh and now ready to hand back.
The car was only in our workshop for a few hours, and the client was delighted that they could continue their day in a safe and serviced vehicle. This is not something that main dealers offer, and we always promise better than dealer value when you come directly to us at Quality Car Service.
